ASUS' N series comes in 10", 12.1", 14.1", and 15.4" flavors:
|All based on Intel platforms, the four N series laptops announced - the N10, N20, N50 and N80, include features like the Super Hybrid Engine (SHE) which automatically allocates power depending on computing load in order to preserve battery life, the Linux-based Express Gate operating system that can boot up in just 8 seconds, and SmartLogon, a facial recognition system that makes than fingerprint reader look like a blast from the past.
The smallest N series laptop offered by Asus, the 10-inch LCD-equipped N10 has previously been detailed and it is equipped with an Atom 1.6 GHz CPU, up to 2GB of RAM and up to 320GB of storage space, a 1.3 megapixel camera, plus GeForce 9300M GS graphics. The 12.1-inch N20 and 14.1-inch N80 both make use of Core 2 Duo (T9400/P8600/P8400/P7350/T5800) processors and can be equipped with up to 4GB of RAM, 320GB of storage, a 1.3 megapixel camera and either a DVD writer or a Blu-Ray combo drive.
Also powered by Core 2 Duo CPUs, the 15.4-inch N50 has a built-in air ionizer which should freshen up the air around the user and can have a maximum of 4GB of RAM, a 500GB SATA hard drive and a 2 megapixel camera. All N series laptops can come with Windows Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business or Ultimate) pre-installed with the N10 also adding Windows XP to the mix.
