A customer recently brought his laptop in and had bought a universal power adapters from one of those quicky mart stores that sell any and everything except for oem stuff, well in lasted three weeks, nad then stopped working, I pliugged in the original power adapter for the laptop and it turns on for a minute then the cpu fan quits spinning then the laptop turns off naturally, It also doesnt power on without the battery in the laptop, which isnt right either, Icould it be a dc jack problem and is it worth sending it off to get looked at?

If the voltage was off, or if the quicky adapter was garbage, it could easily have done some damage.
Since the computer is doing a natural shutdown, and not a crash, it doesn't seem like the issue is hardware damage past the DC jack. If it was a power supply issue, odds are that you would be seeing sudden shutdowns.
