Graphic performance problem of my Dell XPS M1530

Hi, I am new to this forum.
I searched about M1530 graphics card problem but it seems there is no one encountered before.
Here is my situation:
I bought the M1530 in Xmas 2007,
It came with the following components.

Generated from dxdiag.exe:
Quote:
Operating System: Windows Vista? Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1 (6001.vistasp1_gdr.080425-1930)
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
System Model: XPS M1530
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A05
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Page File: 1330MB used, 2702MB available
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 10
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version: 6.00.6001.18000 32bit Unicode
When I bought the M1530 the following months, I played some high requirement FPS game like Gears Of War / Bioshock / Crysis.
At first it was OK, Crysis I can play smoothly with a bit lag in medium graphic setting.
Then later on, I haven't play for months until now.
I installed Crysis again, but it becomes lag all the time even when I set all graphic to low.
It just like lagging every 4~5 second. I was pissed and searched over google.
I hope somebody can help me, and thanks for reading this.

Check for viruses or spyware? What apps are running in the background?

Hi. I'm having a similar problem. Maybe not the same.

First I'll suggest you to:

- This is the most important: Check that your power settings are in best performance mode (not economy mode)
- Don't run games on battery
- Over the months you migh have installed a lot of apps and services. Disable them.
- Try disabling windows Aero theme and all eye-candy.

I also suggest you to get the latest nVidia drivers from Dell support. They released a new version in August 08.

Now my problem:

I've been using MS flight Simulator 2004 and Bioshock to test. With FS I get 30 FPS almost anywhere (even with a lot of buildings and planes around) but after a couple of minutes it starts lagging. If I minimize the game for a little while and go back to it I recover all the FPS.

My current theory is that this is due to overheating. When the GPU is too hot it will decrease its speed trying to keep it cool. I'll clean the fan and whatever I can around it and see if it fixes the problem.

I have done all the things u suggested above,
however, I didn't know there was a new update of graphic driver release,
I can't find it on dell.com
