i just got dsl 250 k at my dads house and i have cable at my moms house. when im at my moms house i can download about 200k a second when downloading files and stuff because that is what the sites cap it at but i just tested the speed here it says 220 down and 200 up so when i download from a site that usually is 250k downlods on my cable the thing caps at 30k wuts up with this, its 250k dsl shouldnt it be able to download at 250K , is there a way to tweak this

250kbps DSL == 31.25KB/s Downstream. Remember 8kb = 1KB.
Since your cable can download at 200KB/s, it must be at least 1.5mbps cable.

yeah my cable is 3000kb so that can download at like 350 KB or so. and this can download at 25KB, now i get it. so 56k is really just 7KB/s. man that sux.

Yeah...56k is really puny...especially since the major ISPs clock theirs at 48kbps. I am so glad I got DSL and then cable a while ago. I can't imagine how I ever lived with dial up.

because files were smaller then and software didn't require patches within the first week...
