I got an HP nc6220 laptop on eBay--works great. However, it has a hi-resolution screen (1400x1050 native) which means it has to switch resolutions when it connects with an external display. If I hook it up to a common 17" CRT monitor and press the keyboard button (fn-f4) to switch to dual displays, it changes both resolutions to 1024x768, which is great and is exactly the way I want it to work. However, when I hook it to the projector I use, which IS capable of 1024x768, the laptop puts the external display in 800x600 and the laptop display to 1024x768 (and it won't let me change the external display resolution to 1024x768). Other computers (Dells) are setting the external display to 1024x768, but this HP won't. Any ideas on how I can get it to run the external display on my projector to 1024x768? TIA - JR
