Sound alternative for M4400

Thread Starter
Bought a Precision M4400 and looking for an alternative to the laptop speakers. The only thing I found was the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook, but none of the reviews I read were favorable.

I want to connect the laptop to my Logitech 5.1 speakers. Does anyone have suggestions?

The X-fi is pretty much it, or one of the USB audio solutions available on the internet.

I think the E series docking stations dropped the coaxial S-PDIF port that the DDock had.

pretty sure you have to also buy the extra dock [which is cable attached to the express card]to be able to get 5.1,which sort of defeats the purpose of using an express card. see bottom of page http://au.creative.com/products/prod...=16642&listby=

Personally, with all that stuff hanging out of the side of the notebook,I would just go with one of the USB versions, which do 5.1 as is.
