Help with my 6860 FX

Thread Starter
I bought my 6860FX maybe a couple of months ago and ive had a couple problems. Every other day i get the blue screen of death and every time i try to boot it at after i get the blue screen again. However, if i wait like an hour it will typically boot up. I had this problem before. Thinking it was a virus i formatted my hard drive and i didnt put anything from the old hard drive to the clean formatted one and is it solved the problem for awhile. Do you think this is a virus again or something wrong with the laptop top? Also my battery pack lately has been humming loudly. It is so loud that i can hear it over a tv and fans in the background so i only use it when needed. If anyone has any suggestions or help it would be much appreciated.
thanks

Make sure you have the proper Intel chipset drivers installed.

I would check the Bios and ensure the onboard raid option is turned off as well.

When it is running how are the temps?? These machines do run warm and while the fans work well, the air they need comes from below the units and there is very little deck height. Although I do not feel this would prevent a clean boot as its has not reached operating temps yet.

I would also flip that bad boy over and pull the ram and reseat them. If it still happens pull one stick and boot it up, if it still happens swap the sticks. If it still happens put them both back in (in reverse order from when you first pulled them) Just in case you have a bad stick or ram which could cause this strange randomness.
