Hey all, hopefully you see this thread Fenuxx.
Here's the deal:
I have a Dell XPS M1730, with 2.4GHz processor, and 8700M GT SLI, and Vista Ultimate 32-bit.
pretty hefty rig, so the games I play it should pretty much tear through, as its done in the past.
However as of late, I've been getting hiccups during gameplay. These hiccups occur every 5 to 30 seconds and last anywhere from the blink of an eye to maybe a second long...aka the framerates seem to drop to 2 or 3 fps, and then pick right back up...its hard to explain, sorry.
Now I've reinstalled my graphics drivers following your guide Fenuxx step by step every single time with no luck. I've used drivers from 175.16, 175.32, 177.98, and 178.13 all with no luck....I've also gone all the way back to 15x.xx after talking to Dell support to no avail.
I'm at a loss here...I've even wiped and reinstalled the whole machine last night to no avial. could this be faulty graphics cards? I didn't have this problem as of a few weeks ago, and now it WILL NOT go away. I'm at a loss
HELP ME!!! these hiccups occur while playing Call of Duty 4, and GTR2 primarily, and I also noticed a problem while playing Crysis where, at the main menu, I couldn't get the mouse pointer more that 1/4 of the way from the left side of the screen...but the buttons still registered when I hovered over them, almost as if the screen had shifted under the mouse pointer, but the mouse didn't go with it...convoluted I know, I'm just telling you guys everything that's happened so far.
please help someone, I don't know what else to do!!
