Acer Aspire 5570 Dvd/Cd Combo Ain't Working

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5570z Notebook
with built in, DVD/CD Burner
Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device
Type: DVD/CD ROM Drives

My Cd/Dvd combo was working properly the other day, But now it doesn't read c.d's , only thing works in it now is DVD's.
The last thing i done before it went weird was burn a c.d on NTI Cd/Dvd Maker, and an error came up and said could not complete or something. When i open up my WMP to rip some songs, i notice it wasn't working. Everytime i put a c.d in, it make sounds of it spining, but not reading comes up. it says Please Enter A Disc. I tried almost everything, i cleaned the laser, i tried removing "upper and lower fliters" from the regedit thing, which wasn't there because i removed that once before when i had this problem. Can someone please help me?

You could try cleaning the optic eye in the CD tray for dust etc with a Qtip, but it sounds like the optic drive is on its way out

I have tried cleaning it, and still nothing.. The thing spins and everything, its just spins, but when i put a dvd movie in it, it plays... I was fiddling around on it the other day, and it said something about Volumes is not dected, or it has been removed.. i can't quite remember excatly now what it said, but basically it said its gone.. Could this be causing the c.d burner not to work... I have found it on the dvd properties setting thing... Please Help...im so very lost without my c.d burner.

You could try a system restore back to a day when it was working, but i believe, that your optic drive has about had it

eBay has new drives for cheap, and it is an easy replacement. All ya need is a screwdriver.
