Hi,
I have just purchased a 2nd hand gateway mt6220 laptop that came with vista home basic and i want to upgrade it to home premium.
I tried to upgrade it thru windows and it seemed to install ok but on the final reboot it came up with a gateway branded recovery console so i tried to install from scratch and deleted the partition and installed premium, again it seemed to install ok but on the final reboot it comes up with a black screen with the little box with the green lights going from left to right.
I tried going into safe mode and vga mode but the same things happen.
It looks like the drivers for the video aren't being installed does anyone know how i can fix this?
ps
The recovery cd looks to be a copy of vista basic and it installs ok and the copy of premium is a real one bought from pc world, I made the drivers recovery disc
but can't install the drivers for the video card until i get into vista.
