To re-pad or not to re-pad, such is the question?

I’m about to re-install my heatsink after replacing a CPU, I’m going to put thermal compound to the CPU, but on the GPU there’s a thermal pad which is good condition. Question can I reuse this pad?
Any help with be greatly appreciated.

Well, when people replace the clutch in a car they usually replace the throw-out bearing, not because it's worn out but because they're inexpensive and easy to replace when the transmission is already out. Seems to me a thermal pad would be similar...
