M55 wont charge/turn on, help!!!!!

Hi everybody! I have an old Toshiba M55-S135 Laptop that I use mainly to tune my cars. I use it to get on the internet every once in a while. I bought the Laptop late in 2005 while deployed to Taqqadam, Iraq. Anyways, I took the PC to the track one night for some data logging and tuning(Car stuff). It was running and charging fine before I took it off the charger.

I came home and tried to hook it up and I got no charge light. I tried reinserting the AC adapter numerous times. Nothing! Now I have no laptop Could this be an internal computer problem or just the power supply not working??? ANy help would be greatly appreciated, I have alot of priceless info on the PC, Id like to be able to use it again!!

Thanks,
Chris

If it is still the original battery, my guess is the battery finally gave up the ghost

Yeah, but with the AC adapter in and the battery removed it used to stay running. Now, I have absoutly NO power whatsoever. Im gonna test my AC adapter with a multimeter tonight. The battery could be shot, it stayed running for about 4 hours the last night the laptop worked. Ill post back with results from my adapter test

In most cases, with a dead battery or the battery removed, the laptop will not work

I know for a fact this one did work with the adapter plugged in and the battery removed. I did a voltage check on the ac adapter(15v-5a) and I had less than three volts, read that if it shows a low voltage to replace the adapter. I guess Ill buy a new one and find out! Ill post results!
