Hi! I would like to know how much my laptop is worth in case I choose to sell it.

Dell Inspiron 9400/E1705

Pentium® Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0GHz 667MHz FSB
2Gb DDR2 667Mhz
FUJITSU 160 GB 5400rpm SATA 8mb cache
Nvidia 7900gs (256 dedicated) (single-pipe heatsink)
17” WUXGA (1920x1200) Glossy [Brand NEW]
NO Bluetooth
DVD-RW
Dell Wreless 1390 b/g & Broadcom LAN
Sigmatel HD Audio
6 x USB (ONE of them is DAMAGED!)
Vista Home Premium 32-bit with restore DVD
No warranty on it. (it was bought on Feb 2007)
Comes with 9-cell battery that lasts around 2h30min, power adapter + deluxe Dell carrying case.

Cosmetics:
- Some of plastic broken off the audio-jack, but it works OK!
- Noticeable minor scratches on the plastic around touchpad & below keyboard.
- Absolutely no wear on keyboard or touchpad
- Some minor scratches on lid
- The heatsinks were cleaned + new thermal paste applied

Some pictures:
NOTE: Screen is not installed yet. I'm waiting for it to arrive. I only have the plastic casing atm.

Thanks.

I would venture to say that you would look to fetch 350-450 u.s.$ on it, giving some cosmetic and one usb bad port. If you look on ebay, one can find your model (with no known defect) for a buy-now price of 499$

cheers ...

The one on ebay has shared Intel video, two times less harddrive, worse processor, less memory. How could you possibly compare the two?
As for a silly $350-450, that is just (I'm greedy ). The screen alone is $200, video ~$200, then processor is $150, motherboard is ~$140. So really, judging from your price it is a better deal for me to sell video/screen/processor/etc and get nearly twice as much money than actually selling the laptop in one piece...
I've looked myself at ebay and kijiji.ca around Canada and I could estimate my laptop to be around 700-750USD.
Also, one damaged USB port isn't such a big deal anyway since there are 5 more left. Unless you usually plug into USB everything that moves (or doesn't) .
Cosmetics? Well I heard some use pheromones to attract females/males, but would you use laptop for that? Well no, unless she/he is a laptop geek, but then again, they could just as well feel drawn to a beat-up laptop (it depends on the number of beers though) . And to be honest the scratches are not that bothersome anyway (see pic and judge for yourself).

FYI: You've still basically guessed how much I paid for it, lol. I paid $240 USD, when it had a cracked screen (ordered new one, + $200) and was frequently shutting down due to overheating issues (have been solved).

Case closed.
