Dell 1730 graphics problems after installing new driver

Hi,

I called Dell and they had me install their driver. After I did this I have had nothing but problems. My DVD picture is fuzzy and shaky, I am hanging and now getting blue screens.

I clicked on the error message and get this response. "This problem was caused by Intel Matrix Storage Manager (iaStor.sys), which was created by Intel Corporation."

Any information or help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My systems:
XPS M1730

Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz
2Gb ram
Nvidia 8700GT 256MB video card
32 bit Operating System

Yes Vista, and the driver is, dell R167359

Okay I was running very high temps. Called dell they sent a tech out to change the fan, the heat sink and the GPU (SLI 8700) After the change my PC wouldn't go on. The tech came back and changed parts again with the same response.
But when I plugged it in using the AC cord, the system booted up fine without any trouble.

So after a month of trouble shooting with dell the tech explained he may have overlooked something and told me I needed to install this dell driver he sent me this link for. I did and and Presto... my PC works again on battery.

I was happy and everything was fine... then I started getting blue screens stop errors, 0x000008086, hanging, and the system decided it was just going to shut down. I called dell again and I am left for days at a time without an answer. I e-mail, I call and here I am still waiting for help.

I checked the error I keep getting and it is telling me "This problem was caused by Intel Matrix Storage Manager (iaStor.sys), which was created by Intel Corporation."

So that is how this all came about.

Any help or information on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

try uninstalling the Intel Matrix Storage Manager...should be seen in the Add/remove Programs panel. this will force Vista to use its own hard drive manager drivers. or maybe just reinstall the driver

if that doesn't work, maybe try reinstalling Vista (worst case scenario i know)
