is it safe with highest overclock on the memory

is it safe to have the memory at 800....??? (i mean, does it mather if i have it on 700 instaed of 800 ???)

its the core you should be carefull to overclock to much yes.. (i just double check here)

i use 1.24 volt...OC at 600/800 (or 550/800 often)

i think i remember that someone told me that the memory is no problems to oc to highest point (800)...correct ???

Over Clocking at any speed can take a toll on your card, so the less OC will be easier in the long run.

Considering the high failure rates of the 79xx series cards and apparaant defect in the GPU your risks of failure are high.

If your worried about cooking your card turn the clocks down, if you don't mind replacing your GPU at some point down the road then let her rip.

Of course Cooling is the Key to longevity

i just talking about the memory here.

i will remember that its the core you should be careful with...and the memory can be overclocked highest point

the temp is fine..(does not the temp goes up if i just change the core.????

Memory or Core result will be the same you shorten the life of the device.

Memory failures are common with these cards.

I am not saying do not OC, I ran my card at 600/800 but many others have as well and ended up replacing thier GPU.

Your asking is it safe, the reply is you risk killing the card,

Temps are monitored for the Core, not with the memory but the memory temps will go up when you OC them.

Have Fun.

Oooooh....You were talking about the GPU earlier in that PM. I thought you were talking about the system memory and the CPU. Anyway, the memory on my 7950 GTX can work at 900 MHz but I leave it at 850 MHz because the extra 50 MHz (100 MHz effective) really isn't helping me at all in any application. What you choose to keep your clocks at is dependent on the highest clock your card can achieve IMO. If the card works in games without artifacts at much higher than 800 MHz then I'd keep it at 800. If not, I'd reduce it to have a nice gap; However, many people operate just fine pushing their cards to the limit. The only other concern is heat output. If the card also does not generate alot of heat at 800 MHz then I'd say its a keeper.

the thing is that i heard (long time ago) that go7900gs use the same chip as go7900gtx, who runs at 1.24volt original......so it should be quite safe with 1.24volt on go7900gs yes ???

so the best thing for my new go7900gs is to use 1.24volt and little less OC (maybe 500/700)...thats should keep my card healty a longer time

1volt is such a different when you play heavy games...so i prefer 1.24volt...well...i will try 500/700 instead of maxium 600/800

Well most of the faults people tend to have with these cards overtime is the memory. The 1.24 V refers to the core voltage and is not referring to the memory. Anyway, like I said, I determine my "safe" clocks by seeing what the card tops out at and taking it back a notch or two.
