I've found a site that shows a laptop running at 5400 rpm, as being comparable to a hard to find ATA 7200 rpm.

Samsung HM 160 HC.
ATA internal harddrive
The purpose is to replace a M140 Dell XPS's hard drive, that will be suitable for audio recording. I plan to partition it with two XP Home OS, to have a net free enviorment in one XP partition, for a Presonus Firestudio. (Multi track Firewire interface running a hog program: Cubase).
The other partition for when I want to surf, and download, no gaming.
Dell XPS M 140
Service Pack 3
2x1g dd2r ram
These are four names I found being used for naming the connection required.
AT6
ATA
EIDE
IDE
I hope someone knows, I have $75 to spend, for 160g.
