Both links are to identical items. That price is too high.

I'll sell you an 8800 GTS (G92) cheaper than that.

ive fixed the links

how good is the card you want to sell me?

Everything at Best Buy is overpriced. I'd strongly recommend looking at prices on Newegg, Tiger Direct, Zipzoomfly, and other online sellers before buying from BB.

The only good thing about Best Buy is that you can always just walk in and say it doesn't work. Then you can get a new item of the same or better value. I purchased an xbox 360 and got a *newer* HALO edition for free because the regular version *RED RINGED* on me. No charge at all and without purchasing a warrenty.

I think taking up buck on his offer may be wise. I can vouch for him being a great member here, great knowledge (not a card abuser) and his card is better than the 2 you referenced.

This is the card I have: EVGA 8800GTS 512

It is essentially the same card as the 9800GTX (the 9800GTX is an overclocked 8800 GTS 512 that also has tri-sli capability). The 8800GTS can easily be overclocked to match the 9800GTX.

The price of the 8800GT you referenced is $159. The 9800GTX is $169 directly from EVGA ($159 from newegg).

To make this easy, all of these cards carry the same G92 GPU, making performance really close. The 8800GTS and 980GTX have higher reference clocks, thus requiring more power.

I just do not understand it? No less than a year ago the same video card equivalant that Trivium has posted for no more than $129 would have cost us consumers near $400. Don't get me wrong here what I mean is that a video card with the equivalant power to standards a year ago and the one that is available today.

I myself was looking at building a new desktop computer this past summer but found that prices seemed a bit inflated to what the actual componant could achieve. Now that I look at some of the going prices on components my eyes pop out of my head and realize that my dream of a full blown SLI system is easily within budget.

Trivium go with an AMD card for now. This comes from all of the hoopla over a high yeild of failing nvidia cards in the 9XXX moniker.

is the psu good enough?

The PSU is doo doo.

Stay away from recertified cards with a 90-day warranty. There might be a reason for it.

Try to think of it this way...if you buy a cheap PSU, it's like putting a time bomb in your computer that was made really badly. It may not go off ever and work out, in the end only killing itself after a few years....or it may blow your whole computer by surging power wildly and fry your mobo, vid card, processor etc. and kill itself.

Moral of the story---buy a high quality PSU.

I would also stay away from recert cards. if they have a full warranty, fine, but you don't want a dead card 3 months from now.

I recommend this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130339 same as the tiger direct one...except I personally believe newegg is a better company to deal with

PSU:http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1204331807576

I'm thinking of this being my final decision unless someone can recommend me a good psu for cheaper

Edit:im looking at the psu above
is it good n wont blow up?

That PSU should work, but if that's your budget range... I'd suggest taking into consideration

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139006

That will last you a hell of a long time and Corsair is an excellent PSU manufacturer. (Take into consideration the MIR)

If you don't want to deal with the MIR for more wattage/amperage then just go for this
