m9700 will not turn on (blinking light on power chord)

I turned on my m9700 yesturday and left the room to use the bathroom. When I came back, my computer was off and could not be turned on. I noticed that it was not reading that it was plugged in either.

I have two batteries, I tried each one and did the whole "press down the power button for 30 seconds with no battery/power etc." Nothing worked.

I just noticed, that when the power chord is plugged into the computer, the green light on the converter box blinks green. However, the moment I take it out of the computer- it returns to the normal steady green. This happens whether the battery is in the computer or not.

Ideas?

Sounds like a power supply/mobo issue. Verify with AW.

I think I remember seeing a string that had this issue. If I remember right, it was a bad battery issue that caused the blinking light. Hard to believe two batteries would go bad at the same time though...

yah... i am starting to think it is a mobo issue.... i can't afford this!!! I got two research papers due at the end of the week... both of which were saved only on my computer! aghhh... i have had way too many problems with this computer for it to be worth it...

So will the laptop turn on with a bad battery? Can I pull a bad battery out and run it on the power chord only?

Yes, modern laptops can run only on the power cord.
