Alienware m5500i-R# Series. Won't turn on!

Last week I was playing on my laptop just fine and yesterday I tried to turn it on. The lights would come on like its starting to load and then it would shut off. It continued to do this until I unplugged my battery. I thought it may have been a faulty battery so I tried to turn it on with just the power cord, and got the same results. Can anyone tell me whats going on and is this laptop just to old to worry about any more? I would appreciate any help you can give.

Could be a number of things...

Can you get into the bios, or does it not get that far?

It may be it's failing in the hardware check stage. Try taking out the memory, and putting it back in to make sure it's seated well.

Are you still under warranty?

First, I would recommend reseating all physical components. Are you able to see the Windows loading screen? Do you know if it's POSTing at all?

Do you have the proper voltage coming out of the PSU (power adapter)? Maybe it krap'd and your battery died...?

Thanks for all the suggestions, but I'm still having a problem. I reset all the physical parts and no change. I wasn't able to get to any POSTing processes let alone the Windows load screen. Any help you guys can give will be greatly appreciated. I was going to trade this system in toward a new alienware, but now I'm not sure if I want another one of their systems. And now it does not matter cause it doesn't work. No offense to the alienware lovers out there.
