Hello everybody,
My wife has an old Vaio that we want to hook up to her electric piano so she can record and playback what she plays. Technically, setting this up is a cakewalk, but her Vaio only came stock with 128mb PC100 RAM and a 10 gig HD. I'm okay on the HD upgrade and have considered adding another 128mb stick of RAM, but I've noticed in various google searches that some users were able to upgrade to 512mg of PC133 RAM on this same laptop.
I've got the BIOS upgrade from August '03 and will install that, but I can't find any reference as to what was changed in that BIOS upgrade (e.g. higher capacity HD, faster RAM, increased capacity of RAM, etc).
Anybody have any experience with the PCG-XG500 and have an idea how I can expand beyond that 256mb limit I've seen in all the documentation? Any assistance would be great, otherwise she'll just have to live with 256mb (not so bad since she's still running Windows ME and just about killed me when I upgraded it to Win2k...)
Thanks alot!
