Vista problems

Hi, Just got a new toshiba satellit pro with Vista Home premium installed. Previously used XP Pro. Vista looks ok but will not work with some of my essential software (my version of MYOB for example). Don't want to replace all my software so I tried setting up a virtual PC and loaded XP Pro on that. Worked ok (bit slow) but operating under Microsoft Virtual PC, you don't get access to USB ports which means I can't use my printer nor scanner. Then tried VMware to run the virtual PC which does support USB ports - seemed to work but very slow.

This seems to be a lot of messing around and it would seem simpler to just scrap the Vista and go back to XP. Want to keep the vista (for the future) so I was thinking of getting another HD to replace the one loaded with Vista then just loading XP Pro on that drive with all the downloaded Toshiba XP drivers.

My question is - has anyone replaced the drive on a Satellit Pro L300? is it straight forward to replace and are there any changes to the BIOS that I need to make. Any issues with loading XP? Other than that any other bright ideas ?

thanks

Find out what type of drive you have ie SATA or ATA and buy a like replacement. If restore Cds were sent with the unit, its just a matter of opening up the panel(With battery removed and power unplugged) on the bottom where the HD is and removing the HD and cage. Remove the cage from old HD and put on new HD then put new HD in laptop. Replace the battery, plug it back in, load first restore CD and reboot the machine. Follow the directions.
Before you do any of this, make sure you have all drivers, utilities, etc for XP burned to a disk or, consider "dual Booting".
