Aspire 3683 wont turn on at all

The laptop was working fine last night. Today I turn it on but nothing happens. Ive tried turning it on with the AC and no battery and also with the battery by itself but no lights turn on - not even the charging battery light. The adapter is correctly plugged in. The battery was full last night, so you'd think that it would turn on when running the battery by itself.

Its about 1.5 years old so its out of warranty.

Ive tried holding the power button for 30 seconds and then waiting ~5 mintues and plugged the battery back in and nothing. I also did it again but tried with the adapter and still no luck.

What can I do to revive it?
Thanks

Ive reseated the ram but still nothing.
Does reseating the hdd involve removing the entire casing?

Reseated the HDD and still no luck. Im starting to think that the mobo is dead. But how on earth can a 1.5 year old laptop die. Strange.

I tested the power adapter with a multimeter and its working fine. What else can I test?

always check the power pin on the right hand side. Most likely, it may be loose, or missing entirely. If that is the case, a new DC board will fix that issue.

if not, looking at a new mainboard.

however, most power issues with this model involve that dc board.

best of luck.
