Was curious, while I was for a response from Armando. I read your review on the system, how does the Intel Turbo memory work in XP? Or does it just disable?

turbo memory works for Vista not XP....

Yeah, thats why I was questioning it, he has it, but switched to XP? Just wondering if it actually did anything that way.

does nothing in xp, shows up as unknown device.

I dual boot XP x86 and vista x64. works in vista, marginal improvement (stick with xp)

So, to update, I've given in and let myself lose the fight for my refund, even Armando here couldn't make a difference. I'll be getting free shipping and the agent in critical issues that I've been dealing with will personally be doing the testing on my new system. I really hope it proves to be a better system and not need repair after repair.

Thats a Top System! I wish my 7700 crashed so that I could trade in for one of those!

I think you made the right decision anyways and it looks like AW did you right too. Did you have to put in any extra?

Congrats and let us know how the system turns out for you.

Nope, it barely came in over the original purchase. Pretty much the recovery disc.

So nervous about it, ugh. I really hope it turns out to be a good working system unlike the last ones.

I hope it works out for you also protocol7...

I've had six systems from Alienware, and only had minor problems with a couple of them that AW handled beyond my satisfaction.

Good luck with the new laptop.

Not much of an update but...

Phase 8: (Production Phase 4 - Quality Control/Shipping Prep)
The system is undergoing the final stage of the Alienware 200-Point Quality Control Process. An Alienware Quality Inspector is in charge of inspecting your system from top to bottom for any obvious or latent defects. Our Inspectors are seasoned technicians/engineers and are very experienced in the art of perfection. Note: If the system does not pass any of our performance standards, the system may have to go back to an earlier production phase and it may slightly delay your order.

...is where it is at as of today.
then it has probably shipped today...

Yeah.. they were VERY unwilling to change anything on it. I think it was the very day after i agreed to do it they dropped the warranty buy $100 and released the 9800M GT for it.. Wouldn't budge when I asked for the change to be made claiming it was too late, the value of the system is what it was when i placed the order, and then didn't start the build process for a week...

According to FedEx I should have it delivered to my office tomorrow, which sucks since its closed.
