Hi people.
I got my new N50Vn some days ago. I don't like Vista that much and wanted to install XP Professional on it.
So I wiped the disk and installed XP SP3 with all recent updates. No Problem. Also most of the drivers that come with the notebook or are downloadable from Asus work for XP too. Exceptions/Problems are:
- HD Audio. Ths is Azalia (Intel HD Audio) compatible and supposedly a Realtek chipset. So downloaded the Realtek HD Audio driver R2.07 and it installed just fine. BUT I HAVE NO SOUND. Neither speakers nor Headphone jack output any sound... Is this the wrong driver?!
- Webcam. I have 2 different drivers (2 possible usb webcam models) that should work for XP too, but I can't find ANY webcam devices to install drivers for in the device manager... What can I do?
- The media keys above the keyboard are working after installing the ATK0100 ACPI driver. Volume keys are ok, but the other keys (play/pause etc.) try to start a Windows Media Player installation, which I'm not very keen on... Can I configure them to use another application?
There are some more keys above the keyboard if you toggle them into a different mode (the white ones). How do get them to work?
Ideas and hints would be welcome
cheers
Kim
