to upgrade laptop or upgrade parts?

my current laptop is

compaq r3000T
2.8ghz northwood
1.5gb ram
60gb HD
ATI 9000/9100IGP 128mb dedicated ram

im not a HUGE gamer but i do like to do some casual gaming, first i started with 512mb when i first go the laptop and i gamed a little and it was semi fast with medium settings and max res, then i upgraded to 768mb and i could play doom 3 with ultra quality settings with little fps problems, didnt really freeze up or wasnt that slow which i thought it wouldnt even run that game like that, so i upgraded to 1.5gb of ram and the computer in NON gaming is really fast and like i said im not a huge.

the laptop is pretty fast , but i was wondering if you guys thought i could benifit from a laptop upgrade or just upgrade to 2gb of ram for farther speed, the problem i have is all the laptops in my price range have fast processors BUT they have crappy graphics cards, and while the ATI graphics card i currently have isnt spectactular to say the least, the combo between the pentium 4 and the ATI seems to be a decent power to graphics ratio.

would you:

stick to current laptop and upgrade ram
or
upgrade laptop but to a not so great G card?

my current laptop has a extremely Lean windows XP along with all the TweakXP tweaks, so its runs really fast for your everyday purposes i get like a 300 benchmark from passmarks which isnt REALLY bad its not your tipical core duo speeds of course its not a core duo either

i donno...any inputs?

Time to get a new notebook. There is only so much the .5 ram is going to give you.
