A bit more than 1 year ago, my video card 7900 GTX's memory died on me ( according to their tech support), and it was out of warranty. But still in my credit card extend warranty. So I got it replaced with 7950 GTX. After 1 year, it happens again. System BSOD with video memory error msg, so i reboot the laptop. This time the laptop doesn't show bios , everything else is running, the screen just flash for 1 second and goes blank as if the video card is fried again.
I reseat the ram , hd, hook up to other monitor, nothing can show screen.
It seems it's a video card defect, because there are other people having the exact same issue. no overclock , normal use. I contact dell, they say it's not their problem, but they are sorry. I have to buy a new one.
I really suspect it's a general defect , but they don't want to recall because it's 2 years old.
Do you guys have other options?
