Will NBF MobileForce VS 175.16 Improve my NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT?

Well, I got the gfx card NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, but there haven't been driver updates from nvidia since I bought my PC.
So my question is: will NBF MobileForce improve the performance of my gfx card? And will I be able to feel the change afterwards?

Yes newer drivers usually are better to have and overall give better performance. The 175.16 is kind of old now and you should try the 178.24 form laptopvideo2go.com

It doesn't support my gfx card, or I can't find it on the list..
Where can I easily find the newest driver for my card?

This is only for mobile gfx cards so i hope u meant mobile 8600 GT which this driver supports. Also mobile drivers are not easy to find on nvidia's site, not even the beta drivers as most of them are released for desktop only. LV2Go adds support for mobile cards too.

Download the driver according to your windows version, then extract it to a folder and simply run setup. Read other posts for more info.

I meant 8600M GT, and that one is not on the list .

dude. its the same. m just means mobile and the list there is all mobile cards. so yours is simply 8600 gt.

Well, okay.. I just replaced the .inf file in the "setup files" folder and ran the setup..

You didnt have to replace the inf in that version. Those are DOX's custom drivers for laptops only so it already has the modified inf file. But it also has an alternate inf file that is for sli users. So use the alt inf for that only or if the inf that came with the setup is giving you problems. Its all there in the readme.

Well, sometimes it doesn't respond, so I'm using my old driver again.

Any idea why?

The difference is that normal LV2Go version are modified to add mobile support too and have separate tweaks for both. Dox's version is stripped of desktop support and only has mobile support and extra tweaks than the LV2Go version. Dox's version dont have physx so you have to download separately if you want to install physx along with the driver setup.

If the Dox version gives you problem, LV2Go version has more chances of working. But you are not always guaranteed that newer driver is a better and drivers perform differently for different people. So you have try and see which one works best for you. Also read the threads as a lot of people have 8600GT as well. Dont forget to do a clean install whenever you are installing drivers.
