Um not so much.......
8800 and 9800 ARE VERY Similar, but there ARE some differences, like one has a wider memory pipe while the other has more general purpose shaders...or something like that. (I dont remember exactly which specs were traded off on) but it was very apparent when games/benchmarks that stressed those two features one would outperform the other and vice versa, with the 9800 slightly ahead overall but when price was factored it was pretty much a wash.
Throw in a die shrink and physx and its really not the same card.
