HEY GUYS I HAVE A COMPAQ PRESARIO V2000 NOTEBOOK WITH A 80GB INTERNAL HDD, I DO ALOT OF TIVO FILE EDITING,AND NEED LOTS OF CAPACITY ASWELL AS PERFORMANCE. HERE IS THE MODEL OF MY HDD IC25N080ATMRO4-0, THE CHIPSET IS ATI EXPRESS 200(RS480) THE SOUTHBRIDGE IS(SB400). SOMEBODY SUGGESTED THE SAMSUNG HM160HC (160GB) AND THE WD2500BEVE (250GB). IS THERE ANYTHING LARGER LIKE A 320GB THAT CAN HELP ME GET BETTER PERFOMANCE AND SPEED WHILE EDITING TIVO FILES?. THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE.PEACE.

I have no idea what your asking.

If you have Firewire get a large external HD. ESata would work even better. 1 TB size.

good idea.

and also to the original poster, you're likely to cause someone eyestrain with that huge font size! I lowered it back down to where it's manageable.

I'm pretty sure your laptop has an additional drive bay to support two internal drives so you don't have to replace the one you have, just add a second drive.

I'm also pretty sure, not 100% certain that it's a 4200rpm IDE drive you have, not the new SATA type. I don't know what type of drive the additional internal port will take. You need to contact Compaq and find out what type of drive you can insert into the spare drive bay.

Well, orange with green isn't my preferred color combination, but heck, so be it.

btw, I meant the so-they-say health risks.
