Hi there notebook guys I'm new to the forum.

I'd like to ask what some of you think on this Asus I found on newegg.

I'd like to play some games with it anyone think this is an okay lappy for what I'll be paying?

I'd also like to ask what do you guys think about the dv5t from hp?

I was thinking If i added a 9600m gt to it and left the rest how it is do you think it would be an alright gaming laptop?

I intend to use it to play games like bf2, secondlife, and a few other older games but also some newer ones lower settings would be allright..

let me know what you guys think I've been researching a few weeks now and would like to get the best deal I can I'd like to only spend

around 800-850 bucks

Either would work, although since Intel processors are currently more powerful than AMD processors and the Nvidia 9600M GT is more powerful than the ATI 3650, I'd go with the HP.

cool thanks for the reply.
I'd like to ask If i went with HP and left the rest as is though would
1gig memory and Pentium(R) Dual-Core Mobile Processor T3200 (2.0 GHz) be ok?Now I could upgrade to two gigs or even 3 in my budget.
I'd like to set the monitor to 1680 x 1050do you think this would be needed or is 1280x800 ok?
At this point i'm almost up to 900 bucks. Let me know if this is really necessary. thanks.

Here's my two cents: If the price difference won't put you in the poor house, then go for the 1680. You'll have more real estate on your screen, meaning you can open multiple applications and see them side by side and most importantly- more eye candy if you're playing games at that resolution. And you can always scale it down to a lower res if you so desire.
