Today, Alienware insiders signed up for the mailing list got a tease of a countdown displaying the date of November 3, 2008 and the phrase, "The Evolution Continues". What does it mean? Well it could mean the release a brand new notebook. I guess we will have to wait until next week to find out.

What do you think it means?

I'm hoping the continuing evolution includes a refresh of the Predator desktop case/chassis and cooling...nothing wrong with the original Predator (for it's time) or the P2, but it's about time I'd think...

I love how Alienware always gets everyone stoked for their new releases. I'm excited.

I'd like to think that it has something to do with the fact that the Area-51 m7x laptop is only available in the well over $3,000 catagory and that they are going to release an update to the platform or possibly a new 17" model.

Still the m9750 currently is at a near steal being only $1,299. I still love that Arima chassis design and wouldn't mind picking up one of the last of these. Maybe once they start selling on their refurbished site.

m17 boooooooooooooooooo

actually, I pimped one out like Id like it, ~3500$ ohhhh my
Destroys the M17x!!!!!!

Still dissapointed though moving back to an old case design for this ugh

Still about 2k for a descent configuration.

I would say that you could go with the lower end cpu and upgrade that later saving some cash up front.

The M17 is basically a more robust m9750. It is even thicker and a bit heavier as well. I also like the FSB bandwidth on this model. Possible purchase.

theres nothing wrong with the case design....i like the way the m9750 is laid out and the m17 looks pretty much the same layout...

It was a nice case when the 9700 was introduced, but damn that was a LOOOOOOOONG time ago, with the likes of the 17x, voodoo's forthcoming 17, and say mac 17 its really dated in terms of sexy!
