Having trouble running World of Warcraft on ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400XT

Hello,
I have been trying to find decent graphic drivers to install on my laptop (with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400XT). First I have tried the original drivers from the manufacturer. The results were not so great and the performance in games was kinda sloppy but I managed to run games like Crysis (with all settings on low).
Then, I changed to modded drivers, omegadrivers. The performance got a bit better, but in some games like World of Warcraft, the resulsts weren't so pleasent.
I am running on Windows XP Professional SP2 and here's my system configuration:
Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 2,2GHz 4MB cache
ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400xt 256MB (dedicated memory)
2 x 2GB DDRII (667MHz) RAM
WD 250GB @ 7200 RPM

I have tried Driverheaven's tool to modify the latest ATI drivers, and those are the drivers currently running on my system.
The problem is that I have major issues while running World of Warcraft. I suppose my graphics card should be able to run WoW at maximum settings, but that's not the case here. I believe it could be a matter of drivers, because as to temperature, I got it well cooled. I use a cooling plataform by Zalman and so far haven't had problems with it.
When I run world of warcraft, even if I lower the graphics quality, sometimes the game kinda becomes visually laggy, but it also seems to run slower or even in a sloppy way. At first I thought it was due to the high ammount of people playing around be but it also happened in narrow areas where I was alone.
If anyone could help me fixing this issue. I'd be very thankful

Thanks in advance!

With kind regards,
Hallaghan

Try running some common benchmarks like 3DMark06 to see if your card is running normally compared with how you would expect it to perform. I expect you'd get about 2000 or so in 3DMark06 which should be enough power for WOW at your resolution so if your 3DMark score is normal it's probably nothing wrong with your system. You should reset all your driver's settings to default if you haven't already.

It could just be network problems.

I have tried to run 3DMark03 (don't know if it makes a big difference from 3DMark06) and my score was 4908. So, what do you think?

Yeah that seems pretty slow. You should be getting much better than that in 3DMark03. I think probably closer to 9000 or 10000 but I really don't know.

How much system RAM do you have?

I got 4GB RAM @ 667Mhz (though I know Windows XP only uses up 3GB).

According to Notebookcheck:

Your video card is a low class 3 video card, which is not very powerful when it comes to games. Especially with the addons of lich king, there is no way you can run wow at max settings, due to the shadow details and other settings, the current wow is actually quite graphically demanding.

If you want to play wow at native resolution, try decreasing the details to low-medium.

If you plan on playing wow at all you will have to have it set everything to the lowest.
When I use my laptop to play wow I have to play lowest everything sept for view distance and spell detail. *otherwise i couldnt raid*
You also happen to have about half the score in 3dmark05 that I do. *well your card generally does*

I get about 15-30fps in 25 mans.
In 10 mans I get around 25-45.

So don't expect much with your card.
