Sony said Friday that it will recall roughly 100,000 notebook batteries worldwide in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product and Safety Commission, after several reports that the batteries could overheat.

The recall covers notebooks made by Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and Toshiba, during the same timeframe as the widespread Sony laptop battery recall of 2006. However, the laptops named by the CPSC do not overlap with the models previously recalled, and the hazard cited by the agency did not include the risk of a short-circuit or fire, the reason for the earlier recall.

I think only a couple hundred Dell batteries are part of the recall. And it's for the Latitude 110L, Inspiron 1100, 1150, 5100, 5150, 5160 which were notoriously bad laptops. I doubt many of them are still in use.
