The Greek edition of PC World recently published some comparative benchmarks of the new Core i7 processors. The results are quite impressive- the 2.66 Ghz Core i7 920 performs equal to the 3.2 Ghz QX9770 and the higher clocked CPUs do even better! See all the results here (thanks to Google's translation).

I know I've been saying this for a bout a year now,,, but... now its almost upgrade time

Eh, I think I'm going to wait awhile for my next upgrade. Seeing as how most X58 boards are $400+

Good scores for stock. My qx9650 scores around 6600 in 06.

Same here, temporarily too expensive and being that I don't have anything that is too processor demanding I see no reason for an upgrade until I personally feel the limits of my processor's speed.

It's expensive now, but it will eventually come down. When Nehalem hits the notebook market mid-2009, I'm going to start looking for a new notebook.

You'll probably have to wait until June or July when the rest of the i7 lineup is released
