AW SUPPORT: Alien Sense

I seem to recall hearing that the alienware command center will be able to be updated with new programs as they are released by the company (with respect to the m15x). I am wondering if Alien Sense will be available to m15x owners since we have the command center software that is apparently update-able and a camera built into the case lid? I think it would be gracious of Alienware to not forget about its past customers that own machines that are running the same suite by making any newer command center programs available to them. Thanks for any advice.

Warner said on the AW support site that Alienware is fixing the update. Apparently there are some bugs to fix.

Who is Warner? Also, are you suggesting that once the program is fixed, the command center will be updateable? Thanks for replying.

Warner is one of the Alienware support forums moderators. AW-Warner, said that the program will be fixed. Not sure, if he meant that it was a whole new package or just updateble download.

Currently we are working on this however we do not have an ETA. You will be able to download it from Myhive as soon as it is available.

Thank you.

Armando,

What is the name of the updated version file? 1.0.17M is the version we already have right? Is it available in the free section?

currently the version available is 1.0.17M, updated version was for the m17, we will keep you posted for m15x users.

Thank you

I know you're not going to agree to it...but could you PLEASE give us ANY sort of rough estimate as to when the new command center update will be available to m15x users???? Thanks for any help Armando.

yep, that would be nice. They already have a version out at notebookreview.com, but it still has a lot of bugs. Hope that AW fixes these bugs soon so that we can have a stable version on the m15x.

Yeah there seems to be A LOT of problems...have you tried it? I am skeptical because i use CC with outlook and its really easy for it to stop cooperating with outlook so in other words I don't want to screw it up. But if its working then I may be willing to give it a try....the guy on nbr.com has a specific order of things to install and apparently it works correctly. If you could, let me know if you've tried it yet.

I dl'd the nbr version and its not as bad as I thought it would be....it still needs some work with the facial recognition but I have it set on continuous security and it hasn't given me that many problems. Give it a try...its gonna be really cool when its all worked out!

Actually, I'm going to wait. I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of problems that's why AW is taking so long trying to fix it up. I'll try to be patient.

I have been checking everyday and no luck yet. I have the nbr version and its still buggy but it definately works especially the longer you use it but there is still a lot of room for improvement such as when you move the computer to a different position or angle. But give it a try for yourself. It's definately cool to log in through facial recognition.
