Asus Gforce Go 8600m GS question

I have an Asus laptop with an Nvidia GForce Go 256mb 8600m GS and was wondering if it supports pixel shader 3.0? I want to buy this game but I'm reading of people having trouble playing it because of video cards and incorrect drivers.

Actually the 8600M supports up to shader model 4.0 as well as Direct X version 10. Depending on the game it probably won't run most games at maximum settings but it should run them reasonably well to give you an enjoyable experience.

What game specifically did you have in mind?

Ok cool thanks for the reply. Game I'm thinking of getting is NBA 2k9 for PC.
