Compaq Presario V3000 Problem

Hey!

I have a Compaq Presario V3000 and the screen wont power up but everything else does! Everything works it is just that the screen wont turn on! Some times if i am lucky the screen turns on and the computer works fine, but when i unplug the a/c cord (sometimes) the screens goes all gray and white and the screen turns off.

I checked to see if any dust or some kind of material is blocking the screen switch but there isn't anything there. I did a full clean up with a blower and etc.

Is this a common problem among this computer series?

If it does not work with an external monitor, then it most likely is with the GPU, which means a motherboard replacement, unfortunately.

Your model may be one that has a well-known issue and has an enchanced warranty, go here to check it out:
