graw 2 freezes after lauching new campaign

currently

m1730
vista 32
4gb ram
8700 in sli
drivers 7.15.11.8043 180.43
physx 8.10.13

i can change settings everything can be changed. when i launch the game the mouse freezes , the audio plays. i have to ctrl/alt/del to get the taskmanager up then i can stop the app. it says that it has stopped responding.

anyone know a fix or is it pretty much SOL

so far only gme in my arsenal that doesnt work, hell even tribes original works

As I recall, there have been some games that have issues with SLI. Try playing with only one of your video cards enabled and see if it works then.

i disabled the physix engine and it continues to load.

what will that do in other games?

Less performance, IF the game even is aware of the physix card.

well i dont have a physix card i was just using the drivers that have it built it. i will try it out see how it does in my benchmarks

Graw 2 is one of the very few games that works with Physx. It's also one of the games that doesn't scale well with SLI. At least it used to have problems with SLI but I'm not sure if it's been fixed. One thing you can do is to disable SLI and use the second card as a dedicated Physx processor. This may give you the balance and stability you need.

Ya,i remember when the 1730 first came out,there was a lot of complaints about GRAW2 performance,especially as the game was bundled with the notebook in a lot of countries.

The 8700 sli 1730 I had,was no different,performance was crap and played just as well/poorly with one card disabled.....didn't bother persisting with it,but yeah,a definite standout with this notebook,was GRAW2.

I didn't have a physx card either and was using XPP
