M15x audio any good?

Hey all,

I'm looking to get a new Alienware laptop. I've been spoiled with my Sound Blaster Audigy external card on my M5500, and want something of equal quality. You don't get any audio options with the M15x...so, how does the default audio stack up to what I have now? Anyone have any experiences with it? Thanks!

The audio is a tinny sound, something you would expect perhaps from a dell latitude pc.

No subwoofers or anything. The drivers are RealTek.

The sound quality is a little better than my m5550's. That's not saying very much. You could always stick a better sound card and hook up some external speakers to it. Not very mobile though. I can't understand why companies like Toshiba and Asus can make an excellent sounding lappy but AW is so challenged in this area.

I've got a Soundblaster Xtreme Audio X-Fi expresscard for my m9700. The m9700 does well with sound, but the soundblaster blows it away of course. Haven't heard an m15x though, so can't advise on stock quality.
