Well, it's time to clean out the old (not so old) laptop. To make a long story short, I believe I may have messed up the MBR, and whenever you power on the laptop, it takes you directly to the recovery partiton.
So, I pulled the HDD from the laptop and backed up all my files onto another HDD on an XP system through a USB cable. (WHEW! I was worried)
Now, I would like to reformat, but do I really want to keep Vista? After tossing the idea around, I'm going to use XP. I have three Vista machines, and I just don't enjoy the OS, so XP it is.
I would like to backup the (Vista) recovery partition in case I ever decide to go back to Vista for whatever reason. Is this possible?
Can you backup a recovery partition?
