I have a 5680 with toshiba drive. I have a couple of burnt copy of games. When i go to install a burnt copy of a game and it gets to the second disk, i put the second disk in but it won't read it, keeps saying insert second disk, but if i got to my computer it is there. So what is the problem and how can i fix it?

Have you tried using the original CDs? Chances are you're burning the copies incorrectly, and/or they're copy protected.

DScott, had a the same problem, it ended up cascading into a bigger problem and i had to RMA the drive, might want to save yourself the hassle and get a new drive....good luck, hope it 's under warranty

Or just put the CD in a drive on another computer on your network and access the drive from your laptop across the network. That is, if you have another computer at your disposal and the disc works in that drive. If so, here's the jist of things:

To do this, share the other computer's CD drive to all users on the network (since it'll be temporary). On your computer, it will appear under "Network Places" / "MS Windows Network". Just click the setup program when you path to the drive and try it that way.
If you want some help doing that, send me a PM and I'll be glad to go into more detail.

Jatt. Did the problem only occur with burnt cd's as mine does? I installed UT2k4 all 6 disks fine. But the burnt ones won't work and i know they are good as they installed on other computers fine. Should i just rma the drive and if so how do I go about doing this and will i have to send mine in before they send me one?

yes, only with burns...i thought for awhile it was copyright protect issues, but as you probably know there are ways to check that and that was not the problem, listen for any odd noises when it is trying to install...as far as an rma it's a pretty easy process, there is a sticky in the support forums that will give you the sager phone number you need to start the process, and just so you know they will send you a drive first if you give them a cc# and return the old one within a certain time, anyways just give sager a call, it was a pretty smooth process for me, good luck!

When you "burn" a copy that you "really really want" to be error free. Burn it at 1x or as close to that that you can. The "inks" used appear to be much better "behaved" when you do that. The Toshiba CD readers are sensitive to this for some reason - including my 4 year old unit.

Sometimes if you "boot" with the errant CD in the drive, it "becomes error free". Don't know why, but it works some of the time for me.
