You can try first to remove the keyboard, canned-air it, and reseat it. If the issue persists, then you might be looking at a new keyboard

Most keyboards are connected to the mobo via a ribbon cable, be careful when removing it, there are lift-up clips on each side. You need first to remove the power bezel, then 3-4 screws are holding down the keyboard to the board. 10min job.

Sounds like it just may be the ribbon cable or it's connection. It does not sound like a cleaning issue, based on what you describe.

any suggestion as to how to get new ribbon cable.....i mean the part number..,.. for dv 6000.....

If the ribbon cable is bad, I believe that you have to replace the keyboard. It is plugged into the motherboard, but is hardwired at the keyboard end (I think!).

However, it may be as simple as the ribbon cable is not completely inserted into the ZIF connector on the motherboard.

That is great! Always good when it turns out to be something "fixable" and inexpensive/free!
