Hi all,
I've just recently gone out and bought an new 250Gb EIDE drive for my venerable & trusty NP8790-V. Problem is, I can't read the entire disk capacity, only 128Gb due to the 48-bit LBA limitation.
I've trawled the net and tried variour fixes, including flashing my BIOS to the latest version sent to me by Sager only yesterday - but with no joy.
Is there absolutely no way I can get thefull HD use with either software or hardware?
My machine is configured as follows:-
Intel 865G 3.4GHz P4 Extreme Edition with HT; Chipset: Intel RG82865PE; 2Gb SDRAM; Win XP Pro SP3; 120Gb Samsung Primary HD (with OS system on it) - the secondary drive is the new Western Digital WD2500BEVE, that I want to use only for media storage. No RAID is set up. I've tried the WD Data Lifeguard Tools, but that doesn't give me the Dynamic Drive Overlay option in the advanced setup (odd that...).
Has anyone got any ideas before I throw in the towel?
All suggestions welcome!
Thanks...
