Oooops, My bad. Misread the thread - it was that "other guy's" machine that was a 3.2GHz.
With the serial number and date ordered/received, I would think that it was not a returned item.

Perhaps this one had been put aside and was waiting for the processor and that's why my serial number is so low.
I suspect that they were holding yours for the processor and then when you changed the order - you got it. Did you have any problems with it?

anyway, just got back from lunch and see the new laptop sitting at my desk. so hopefully i get some better luck this time.

which CS maps, btw? if they're the ones i hate anyway i don't think i'll mind so much lol

It does it on dust and dust2. What the problem was that it had pink shaded artifacts flickering on the walls and on the ground. It didn't really bother me as far as playing the game...it didn't make me play worse. But what did bother me was the fact that I knew there was something wrong with the video card for the money that I was spending on a notebook.

Also, the last time I used the notebook...i noticed it happening on other maps such as aztec and inferno. It only appeared on those maps after about 2 hours of gaming. So I guess as soon as it heated up to a very hot level, it started getting worse.

I'm sure you won't have the same problem as I am 99% sure that my video card was defective and NOT that the video cards on the 8790 are "incompatible" with counter-strike.

So in your case.... NO WORRIES! (unless yours is defective too)

OK - it appears that no one has a unit that appears to have been "another's" used machine. That should make everyone happy.
