Best gaming for under 1000$

My cousin asked me what the best gaming laptop for less than a 1000$ was. That's all the information I have. That said, I've seen the Gateway 7811, but that goes for about 1350. In the price range I'm looking at, is the best graphics card still one of the Nvidia 84xx/86xx cards?

Look at what ASUS has to offer. They have some nice machines in that price range that come with decent graphics cards.

I got the toshiba on my sig for $865+tax brand new from bestbuy recently. You gotta look for one in your area because they were going fast. This is the first laptop I ever bought at a retailer as I always buy online but couldnt resist. So far the best bang for the buck on any laptop I ever purchased.
