vertical lines down my Gateway M675 17'' screen

Hi, not sure if anyone has had this problem but i have been getting all these lines down my M675 screen. they have also just started to bunch up making it kind hard to read. i have read about this problem with other types of laptops and it looks like the graphics card is the culprit. i just checked out this forum and someone was looking at upgrading their graphics card for a M675 and someone responded saying that the graphics card cannot be upgraded. anyone know any other causes for this type of problem or any solutions?

you can try....at your own risk!

try flexing the display ever so slightly or pressing along the top edge of the display.
if the lines get better or worse, it would be the LCD panel that is the culprit.

hes right this is a LCD issue

the 17 inch lcds are knowen for this

the p/n of the lcd is lp171wx2-a4k1

search google or ebay and you can find them for about 150 or so
