It's been almost 2 years since the m5790 was released. How is yours faring?
Mine is still trouble free and running 64-bit Ultimate (knock on wood), and has another year of warranty. I have done many upgrades to mine:
replaced the DL DVD RW with the UJ-220 2x DL BD-RE
2GB Ram increased to 4GB Ram
(320GB 7200RPM HDD's are cheap now on newegg, and I think I may buy 2 for $199 to run in RAID 0 soon.)
edit- Currently running 640GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0 WD Scorpio Black WEI score for disks (transfer rate) has dropped to 5.5 .( the m5790's VIA VT6421 chipset has no problem with using the SATA 3 as a SATA 1.5 and will not require the use of jumper shunts)
One thing I have noticed with my BIOS version (1.20U) is that the system doesnt seem to remember display brightness settings, and I have noticed that the Processor support for the T7600G overclocking disables itself ever now and then ( I think this may occur when Windows updates are installed).
I have been toying with the idea of installing 1.19w to see if it "fixes" these issues...
Update 11/30/08
Installed BIOS 1.19W- It is identical to 1.20U. I have noticed no discernable difference- Brightness setting still defaults to full, etc. My system didnt even hiccup with the new BIOS. Last time I had to reactivate, and reinstall Video drivers.
