External LCD output

Thread Starter
Been trying to use the vga output on my vostro 1500 and it works ok but I notice some noticeable blurring when using it, I know its not the external because when i connect my xbox 360 up to it with 360 HD/VGA cable and it looks stunning. and its running at a much lower rez (1360x768)
the monitor is a Viewsonic vs2235wm with a native rez of 1680x1050. does cable quality play a factor?

Cable quality can be a determining factor with analog video, with Digital, the signal is either there or it's not and cable quality has little impact on performance.

That being said you might want to find some analog display tweak guides online. VGA input can look as good as DVI but it requires a greater degree of tweaking.
