Hey guys,
Basically, connecting the laptop to my HD-TV... the laptop only has: VGA output and 's-video output'.
I've already got the 's-video' to 's-video' and the jack to audio R+ L fitted to a scart connector which is in the back of the TV, this works fine... the quality is poor on text but it works at low res....
However, after closer inspection - the 's-video' is SEVEN pins not 4...
After doing some research - some people seem to think this carries HD properties (Y, Pb/Cb, Pr/Cr.. colors) .... it's not actually called an 's-video' connector because of this??
It also states I maybe able to get a "7 pin mini din > component".. other agree + disagree but can't seem to find any real answer. I'm just waiting on an email from acer - but not expecting this any time soon.
Finally... if it doesn't accept HD properties.... why have 7 pins instead of 4 if it's just the same? Could it just support higher resolutions then the normal s-video (640x640) ?
apologise for the long post, thought it was best to add as much info as possible!
Thanks
