Recovering Data from RAID 0

The power supply on my 8890 died about a year ago and I haven't had any luck with finding someone willing to plug my HDs into their 8890 to retrieve my data. I was willing to sell the person my 8890 for parts very cheap to help me. I am almost willing to give it away at this point (maybe the interested party will just pay shipping and send me back my data on dvds).

Otherwise, does anyone know how I can get the data off the two HDs that I was running in RAID 0? Does anyone know of a place that will do it for cheap? I understand that all someone needs is the same raid controller to do this is this correct? If not, can I plug them into a sager 9262 to get my data?

Please help.

Thank you.

Are there any 8890s out there anymore? Have they all died?

Recovering data from a RAID0 is extremely difficult and yes, if you have the same RAID controller configured the same way it should work but unless it's the same computer it may not boot those disks so you would have to boot from something else...maybe a BARTPE CD or an external drive.

Have you tried contacting any professional data recovery services to see if they have any options they could offer? It's not cheap but if they can't do it, no one can.

Even though it's too late, it's worth pointing out to anyone else that a consistent backup procedure to an external system, preferably off site, is critical whenever dealing with high value data, not just when on a RAID0. It's also worth pointing out that RAID0 doesn't just double the chance of losing data due to a drive failure, but as in this case a system failure can also make the entire RAID unrecoverable.
